The beautiful surroundings and diverse activities in Cairns make it the perfect place for an unforgettable group getaway. Our Team Trips packages have something for everyone. You can choose any activity and build your own package – the options are endless. To ensure you experience everything great about Cairns, we have compiled a list of the top Cairns attractions you should do on your team trips getaway.

Swim in the Esplanade Lagoon

If you want to beat the heat, head to the Esplanade Lagoon, one of Cairns’ best-known landmarks. Tourists and locals flock to the 4800 sq. metre saltwater swimming lagoon year-round, set on the Cairns foreshore overlooking Trinity Inlet. On the other side of the Lagoon, visitors can lounge on the timber decks with shady trees and landscaped gardens, and you can also take a stroll down the legendary boardwalk – it’s a great leisurely day out for your team.

Visit the Cairns Aquarium

Get up close to the species and ecosystems of Tropical North Queensland at the Cairns Aquarium. The Aquarium provides a world-class venue for seeing and interacting with the incredible animals – there are over 71 different habitats, playing home to over 16,000 animals. Discover animal presentations, habitat talks, a marine touch pool and daily shark and ray feeds while you are there. If your group is visiting by day, opt for either a Marine Life Encounter or Turtle Hospital Tour with lunch at Dundee’s Restaurant. There’s also the Aquarium By Twilight tour, where you will learn all about the nocturnal animals of the Aquarium.

Enjoy a Great Barrier Reef Snorkelling Cruise

Given it’s the gateway to the Great Barrier Reef, cruise to this natural wonder, where you can spend the day snorkelling in the majestic waters. You’ll be onboard a 35-meter superyacht in Cairns, where you can explore snorkelling the colourful underworld world and catch marine life up close. A BBQ lunch prepared onboard is available with fresh fish, prawns, steak, and salads (Veg, GF, DF and vegan options), as you spend five hours onboard and visit two spectacular reef locations, with snorkelling equipment provided. It is a spectacular day out!

Go White Water Rafting in Barron Gorge National Park

Prepare for spills and thrills as you explore the lush rainforest, sweeping gorges, and dramatic cliffs of Barron Gorge National Park. Your adrenaline will be pumping as you paddle over Class II and III rapids on this rafting adventure that sees you cruise down the Barron River. You’ll see spectacular views of the Barron Gorge from the water, and there is full instruction provided, making it suitable for complete beginners. This a group activity your team will love.

Explore the Cairns Botanic Gardens

This famed Cairns’s attraction, known as a tropical paradise, allows your group to see the beauty of tropical plants, relax in stunning surroundings and learn about tropical flora and horticulture. Renowned for having one of the best exhibitions of tropical plants in Australia, the Cairns Botanic Garden has 38 hectares of diverse plant life that can be found within tropical climates. Guided and audio tours are available, and the best part? Entry is free all year round.

These are just a few things your group should do while you’re in Cairns. You can also learn about the history of Cairns at the Cairns Museum, soak up the sun at Green Island, and visit the lush rainforest at Josephine Falls, where you can also take a dip in the natural swimming holes. If you want to take home some souvenirs as gifts for your friends and family, head to the night markets, where you also sample delicious fresh seafood, too.
