Make a Splash at the Wave Lagoon
One of the most beloved attractions in Darwin is the Wave Lagoon. Located on the hugely popular Darwin Waterfront, this cool attraction is a bucket-load of fun. It features a palm-fringed swimming pool that allows people to tube-ride and boogie-board when the waves roll in every 20 minutes. How cool is that? Fully patrolled, the lagoon is two metres at its deepest point and slopes to a shallow area of still water. There are banana lounges, beach umbrellas, shady patches of lawn to relax on, and grab refreshments at the café.
See Crocodiles Up Close at Crocosaurus Cove
If you’ve ever wanted to see crocodiles up close in a secure and safe setting, visiting Crocosaurus Cove is a must. Your group will view massive saltwater crocodiles and crocodile hatchlings. It’s also home to the world’s largest display of Australian reptiles and the famous Cage of Death – the only cage that brings you face-to-face with some of the largest Saltwater Crocodiles in captivity. You’ll also have the chance to ‘Swim with the Crocs’ in a safe environment – now that’s a picture you want to capture! There’s also a turtle enclosure, ensuring a day of fun at this interactive reptile park.
Explore Kakadu National Park
Learn more about Indigenous culture at the Kakadu National Park, an enormous, biodiverse nature reserve. It’s a living cultural landscape, home to Aboriginal people for over 50,000 years. The Park’s extensive rock art sites date back thousands of years, with terrain encompassing wetlands, rivers, and sandstone escarpments. It’s home to 2,000 plant species and wildlife, from saltwater crocodiles and flatback turtles to birds. You’ll see Aboriginal rock paintings dating to prehistoric times, and it’s an interesting and eye-opening day out for your group.
